Back in PA where I am from originally they do all of the conferences A through AAAAA all in one day at Heinz field. I think thats a pretty cool thing to do actually. You only need the stadium for one day so the cost is less...it gives even the small school kids the chance to play at least one game in their life at a big time stadium. I cant for the life of me figure out why they just dont do all of the games at ASU, NAU, U of A, or even UOP Stadium. If they just changed the schedules so that way 1A through 5A all started regular season games at the same time and made everyone play 9 or 10 games then AZ could have something like that. Do our high schools really need to have 2 scrimmages? To me thats just more opportunity for injury. I dont know...to me it would be a better experience for the kids giving them a once in a lifetime opportunity and it would make everything much simpler in terms of logistics. They already let 2A and 3A play in the dome at NAU and 4A and 5A play at UOP Stadium...why not let everyone? But then again, the AIA isnt know for making the most logical or best decisions for everyone anyways. Especially ones that would be beneficial to the students, their families, and the schools.
