St. David plays Duncan this Thursday @ 7:00 in Duncan. Should be a great game!
Duncan has already beat Valley Union and Hayden, and Played a very good game against Pima (lost by 8), while St. David has has had two very easy victories (ASDB and Patagonia) and a victory over a tough Valley Lutheran team. These teams have two very different styles of offense. Duncan is going to play smash mouth, run the ball at you offense. The stats show that Duncan has only attempted 3 passes all year, while they have run the ball 139 times. St. David on the other hand likes to spread it out and run or throw the ball. So far this season St. David has attempted 63 passes with 90 rushing attempts. When you consider that for a significant portion of two games St. David was winning big and probably wasn't throwing the ball, and that over 1/3 of their rushing attempts were from St. David's QB, and could have initially started out as a pass play, you can see that St. David has a more balanced attack and likes to pass.
Tooting my horn--I predicted a 36-22 score. Should have known better than the 22 for Duncan. They struggle with converting 2-pt conversions. So how high will St David climb in the polls? I would put them at least at #4 behind Joe City, Mogollon (if they don't get blown out by JC), and Pima--although they have a case for jumping over Pima since Pima beat Duncan by less.
