i was fortunate enough to watch the CV Cowboys take it to Mingus on Friday and i can honestly say they arre for real. They should definitely be a favorite. When they lost to Tempe prep the had four starters hurt. the quarter back two line backers and a both way tight end linebacker. When they lost to Nw the only starter back was the quarterback. I can see the Cowboys in that title game as well!!!!
First Round: NWC over Tonopah SCA over Tempe Prep St. Johns over Williams PC over Camp Verde- Call me crazy but i have a gut feeling about this game. San Tan over Thatcher- in a close one ALA over Morenci Round valley over Willcox YC over San Manuel
Second round: NWC over SCA St. Johns over PC ALA over San Tan YC over Round Valley
Some interesting matchups in the first round: NWC should roll over Tonopah. SCA and Tempe Prep both playing well right now. Great matchup. I think the Knights win again and by a larger margin this time. St. Johns should roll over Williams. Camp Verde should handle PC, but not in a PC fashion. Thatcher/SanTan could be a rough one for the Eagles and probably not the matchup they hoped for. Could be rough. Morenci went from "probably not" to "how in the world?" They'll lose to ALA, I think. Willcox/RV is another great matchup. If Elks are healthy, I think they win. YC will roll over San Manuel. Big.
Yes they did but their offense scored 77. If you look at their schedule the defense gives up 9 points a game, and that is with Northwest Christian, who they held to 13 points. YC has played one of the hardest schedule. Parker, Buckeye, River Valley, San Tan, Tonopah, and Northwest. These are all playoff teams.
Thatcher didn't lose much from last year in a game they should have won against YC. I say NWC and Thatcher in the big dance. NWC is tough and will be the favorite...........hold on..........should be a good one in Div V.
Barring any upsets NWC, YC, Thatcher, and SJ in the semis like last year? Very probable. I agree with Metro on this one.
Very true. Thatcher controlled the ball for much of the game is last year's semi-final game against Yuma. However, Thatcher did lose some key players and have played an easier schedule this year. Yuma has had a tough season and prevailed. They will be playoff ready. Thatcher's game against San Tan will be very interesting, but I give Thatcher the win. I see Camp Verde going very as they are getting healthy again. St. Johns seems to me like they might have more hype then they deserve. But you just can argue with results.
I agree, I think Thatcher will ride it out against San Tan. However SJ vs CV is another matter. You know the Cowboys are spoiling for a shot at the Redskins after last year's loss in the playoffs. I think CV comes out on top this year, if both teams meet.
Camp Verde definitely has the revenge factor on their side, after getting beat pretty easily last year by SJ in the playoffs. I think if they both are lucky enough to get out of the first round, and get out of it with all their key players intact we should see a fairly even matchup. Both teams returned quite a bit of last years teams, and I think both teams are a little better this year than last year.
Looking at results, and I know these don't always pan out, but SJ played Snowflake in Snowflake for their homecoming. From everything I hear of the game, SJ had an advantage late, and probably should have won. They chose a pooch kick, which gave Snowflake a short field with under 2 minutes to go in the game, and Snowflake did what good teams do, and pulled off a late come from behind victory. This same Snowflake team, later in the year played Mingus at Mingus and won a thriller. Camp Verde played Mingus in Camp Verde last week and beat them by 10. Camp Verde is a very tough place to play. Just putting 2 and 2 together, like I said this might be a great game.
My predictions NWC SCA SJ CV Thatcher ALA RV in an upset of Willcox YC
