1. Joy (5-0) 2. Pima (5-0) 3. Mogollon (5-0) 4. Valley Lutheran (5-0) 5. Scottsdale Prep (5-0) 6. Bagdad (4-1) 7. Joe City (4-1) 8. Duncan (4-1) 9. St. David (3-2) 10. Gilbert Christian (3-2) 11. Superior (3-2) 12. Salome (4-1) I believe Salome could not beat any of the teams listed above them 13. Mesa Prep (5-0) Due to Mesa preps weak schedule, they can not be consider a top team. Mogollon on 10/5 is only really test on their schedule, which will allow them to easily finish 7-1. Like Salome, I doubt Mesa prep could beat any listed teams above.
Mogollon's opponents thus far are 12-13. SPA's opponent have gone 5-20. We still remember last year and all the hype before and after the SPA-Mogollon game. I think I am with Metro. If SPA can beat Mogollon this Friday night they will be able to compete for the state title.
I think Metro's rankings are pretty good. Mesa Prep is still an unknown force, but it is very likely they will be in the playoffs regardless of how we rank them. St. David, Superior, Salome, Fort Thomas and Bowie/San Simon may all finish with 5-3 records but cannot all get in. Maybe only two will get in when probably three deserve to be in. Like VU discovered last year--a strong schedule doesn't work if you lose too many games.
I would love to see the Mog/SPA game. This will be a game that will determine who is in the top four with a first round bye. I think it will be solid game and I'm not convinced Mogollon will pound them like last year.

I wouldnt just hand Mesa Prep a victory this week vs. Mayer. From what I hear, Mayer is healthy now and is playing better football. It should be a good game.
