Chaparral struggled early offensively. Saguaro's defense looked sharp. One of Chap's 3 major run threats went down in the 1st quarter and their QB #10 didn't bring his best throwing game. 2nd half saw things pick up on the ground and in the air.
Saguaro's offense never really got a rhythm. Firebirds looked stingy. Got monster games out of #28 MLB (around 15 tackles, at least 6 for a loss), #54 OLB/special teams (2 punt blocks, 1 for a TD all by himself) and #52 DL (required a minimum 2 blockers on every play).
Saguaro's #51 OL/DL must be near 300lbs and he's mobile. Bright future for that one. Their QB #7 ran well. Looked like Barry Sanders on some plays where you forgot he only got back to the line of scrimmage and buoyed the offense.
Lots of big hits, some cool trick plays. Fun lower level game.
