You have two good up and coming juniors who come to summer workouts and passing league games. They have qualified for a national competition. The week before the competition you have them squat and clean heavy. The day before they leave for this national competition you play them in a passing league with a team that is not even in your division and you are a running team. When they get to the competition the athletes times and scores suffer greatly.
