Hey, have you ever read the book Holes by Louis Sachar? Well, now the book is the movie! Like I said the movie is called Holes and it is also written by Sachar. I really liked this movie. It's just like the book but with some funny extras.
The movie (and book) is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats (Shia La Beouf). He gets sentenced to 18 months at a juvenile correction facility (aka Camp Greenlake) for a crime he didn't commit. What they do there is dig holes. Why do they dig holes? The kids think it is to build character, but they find out otherwise. Stanly thinks he's there because of a curse that was put on the Yelnats family.
When he gets there he meets a weird group of friends: X-Ray (Brenden Jefferson), Squid (Jake M. Smith), Armpit (Byron Cotton), Zig-Zag (Max Kasch), Magnet (Miguel Castro) and Zero (Khleo Thomas) who becomes his best friend. The people who run Camp Greenlake aren't very nice. First there's The Warden (Sigourney Weaver), she's the boss of the camp. Mr. Sir (Jon Voight) is kind of a kiss up to The Warden. Mr. Pendanski (Tim Blake Nelson) is really clumsy.
I think the movie was more interesting because they show more details. If you read the book, believe me you'll love the movie. I recommend it for ages 5 to 105. Everyone who sees this will think its cool. Come on, the theaters are waiting for you!
