Travis Gabbidon.

2 Final Fours later, Gabbidon earns the much deserved respect from coaches across the country!

While Travis Gabbidon wears #2 in Desert Vista's formidable front court with #1 Xavier Kilby – this year Travis has emerged as one of the top wing/forwards to come out of Arizona in the past several years.

Gabbidon, who played freshman ball at Desert Vista, and was elevated to varsity during his sophomore year, has now grown to a powerful 6'7" and has developed his game which includes taking the ball to the basket like no other front line player in Arizona. Gabbidon has developed a very formidable game facing the basket including above average shooting range for a big man. His improvement over the last few months will open eyes with many top college scouts and coaches around the country. Travis' older brother Mike played for Lute Olson at U of A, and his father Earl was an NFL football player. His genetics and his game are coming together as he begins his final year at Desert Vista.

Two years ago as a sophomore Travis helped lead a very young DV team to the Final Four at AWA. Last year as a junior he helped lead them to the State Championship game. This year (as one of the team's leading scorers and rebounders) will be his chance to lead them once again to the grand prize for Arizona 5A basketball – a State Championship. Travis is also the anchor of this years' Arizona Stars 17U team, and was a candidate for the prestigious Nike All-American Camp.

As he continues to grow, and adds strength and size to his already incredible basketball frame, this kid is one to watch. ranks Travis Gabbidon the #3 college prospect behind Ty Morrison & Lee Cummard in 2004.  Look for Gabbidon to end up at a lower level Pac 10 or high WCC/Big West.  Inspeaking with Travis this past weekend he indicated Oregon State is leading to date!

Congrats to Travis Gabbidon!
