The Front Runner- Mountain Pointe – The defending state champs are loaded again.
Chandler– I am not sure there is a team in the state with this much talent. They also have one of their best offensive lines in years.
Desert Ridge– Big keys to winning football; play great defense and run the ball well. The Jags return a great group of players on defense and one of the state’s leading rushers.
Hamilton- People think the Huskies are down…wrong. They are well coached and bring up some very good players from the lower levels.
Horizon– Few expected the Huskies to win 8 games last year. Their offense is explosive and their kids play with swagger.
In The Mix
Red Mountain- Three straight losses to start last year, by a total of 14 points, put RM in a hole. They finished 6-6 and have a good crop of kids in the trenches returning.
Sleepers- Basha, Westview, Brophy, Highland
Questions? Will the Morrison brothers play? Can Mt. Pointe repeat? They are loaded, holes on defense are biggest concern. Is this Chander’s year? They have skill and their best line in years. Is Hamilton down? Sure, they have losses but don’t expect a drop off. They always have talent and have one of the best coaching staffs in the state. Who is the best QB in D1, Perkins, Lewerke or Sneed? That will be debated all year long. All are studs that will put up crazy numbers.

4. Desert Ridge
