Things certainly didn't start the way Mt. Ridge envisioned.
A fumble recovered by Liberty led to a Jake Schuiteboer TD run and an early 7-0 Liberty lead, one which they would never give up. Liberty would build a 27-3 halftime lead and the game was never in question.
After a Mt. Ridge punt, Liberty QB Tyler Wyatt would push the lead to 14-0. Wyatt would later leave the game with an apparent injury to his left shoulder.
The Mountain Lions got on the board at the end of the first quarter n a Logan Besore field goal. 14-3.
Kaden Kubaiko took over for Wyatt and led the Lions to two 2nd quarter scores. He ran one in himself and connected with Ricky Tuita, who made a great catch, for a 66 yard score. 27-3 at the half.
Gavin McRae took over the kicking duties for Wyatt and hit a field goal early in the 3rd for Liberty.
Mountain Ridge got two scores in the 4th quarter and recovered an onside kick to make it interesting but never got closer then 30-17. Final.
Liberty is playing god football right now and has three quality wins under the belt. Let's hope Tyler Wyatt is okay for them.
Mt. Ridge had 5 turnovers, way too many to beat a good team like Liberty.
Kaden Kubaiko, Liberty's back up QB, came in and went 13 of 21 for 189 yards and a score. He also had a rushing TD.
