Columbia came into Arizona on Friday looking for a quarterback and extended scholarship offers to two players from the Grand Canyon State.
Anthem Boulder Creek's Gunther Johnson was offered and it is his first.
Johnson (6-1 180) threw for 2,272 yards and 28 TDs as a junior while only throwing 6 INTs. He also showed good mobility, rushing for 723 yards and 8 more scores.
Desert Vista's Alex Farina was also offered by Columbia. It is his third offer. NAU and Cornell previously extended offer.
Farina (6-2 190) threw for 1,169 yards and 5 TDs versus 7 INTs as a junior.
