Zero Week Game Previews

Right out of the gates there are some great football games being played starting Thursday night

Game of the Week

Long Beach Poly at Centennial

* Arizona wants to prove they can compete against the California schools. No better way to prove we belong then facing off against one of Cali's best. LBP has talent and speed. Most recently, Florida State commit, quarterback Malik Henry, transferred to LBP. It happened just days ago, will he play against the Coyotes? Five-star DB Jack Jones doubles as an outstanding receiver. Utah commit Davir Hamilton and three-star DT Emmanuel Fesili take the field for Poly as well.

The Coyotes are strong in the trenches with division-one OLs Marshal Nathe, Steven Bailey and Tanner Hawthorne. These three will be asked to play ball control offense and keep the explosive Poly offense off the field. DBs Isaac Steele and Quinten Gomez will have the task of locking down the speedy Poly receivers.

How will this Arizona heat affect LBP's players, especially those going both ways?

Game I will Attend

Catalina Foothills vs. Desert Edge at GCC

* Very good quarterback play is featured in this game with CF's Rhett Rodriguez and DE's Tehran Thomas. Both are very talented juniors that have played a ton of varsity football already. Desert Edge has one of the biggest offensive lines in the state and Roshaun Johnson is a big physical back. Catalina Foothills head coach Jeff Scurran has won everywhere he has been. Expect his team to be well coached.
