In what was supposed to be an offensive shoot out, Paradise Valley took a 6-0 lead into halftime over visiting Desert Edge.
The only score of the 1st half came late in the second quarter when PV quarterback Daniel Bridge-Gadd hit WR Aron Smith.
The fireworks waited until the second half as PV got things started off with a four and a half minute drive that finsihed with a Bridge-Gadd to Jacob Brown TD pass. A penalty on a field goal try on Desert Edge gave PV the ball back inside the 10 yard line and ulitmately gave PV three extra points on the board. Two point try was no good. 12-0.
Desert Edge answered quickly. Rocky Perez made a huge run to the 31 yard line and QB Alias Sturges raced in shortly after to get the Scorpions back within one score. 12-7. Sturges replaced injured Tehran Thomas at QB for Desert Edge.
The two teams exchanged two quick scores to close out the 3rd quarter. Bridge-Gadd hit Brown for his second TD of the night while big Desert Edge RB Roshaun Johnson kept things close with his first score of the evening.
Heading into the 4th quarter, PV was up 19-14.
Desert Edge's defense came up big, when Johnson, who doubles as a mike linebacker, intercepted Bridge-Gadd but Desert Edge fumbled the ball right back to PV and thr Trojans would capitalize on a Bridge-Gadd to Jim Dragon TD pass.
Again, Desert Edge would respond quickly as Sturges raced in from 25 yards out. 26-21.
But PV put the nail in the coffin when Bridge-Gadd hooked up with Smith again, this time from 60 yards out.

Of course everyone will wonder would the game have been different with Thomas playing? PV showed the are a true contender tonight with this victory.
