I have not seen this before...
Three players from the same high school, all from the same recruiting class, commit to the same college on the same day on a conference call.
Big news came out of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro today when highly touted 2017 prospects Kyle Soelle, Jared Poplawski and Corey Stephens all committed to Arizona State today on a conference call.
Saguaro head coach Jason Mohns confirmed the news with 24-7Football.com. "All three of those kids have played a long time together, since Pop Warner. It is cool that they get to stay together," Mohns says.
Below is info on the newest Sun Devils.
Soelle also has offers from Washington State, Utah, Cal, Boise State, Air Force, New Mexico State, Navy, New Mexico, NAU, Colorado State, San Diego State, Army, UNLV, Nevada, San Jose State and Hawaii.
Soelle, a tight end and outside linebacker will get his first look on defense at ASU, actually did not play at Saguaro last year, recently transferring from Notre Dame Prep. He made 21 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year for the Saints and added 37 receptions for 334 yards and one score.
Poplawski picks ASU over offers from Illinois, Oregon State, Louisville, Columbia, Colorado, New Mexico, New Mexico State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Nevada, Hawaii and Memphis.
Poplawski (6-4 230) helped Saguaro win the D2 state title last year. He caught 32 passes for 438 yards and 6 scores while making 20 tackles, 5.5 for a loss, 2 sacks and 1 interception on defense. He will play on offense at ASU.
Of the three, Stephens was most recently offered by ASU, hauling in the offer just days ago.
He also has offers from Cornell, Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, Princeton, Air Force, Army, Columbia, Memphis and Louisville.
According to Mohns, ASU will play Stephens at center.
