Tyler Vasko scores five times to lead the Knights to victory

The game started with three consecutive scoring drives between the two teams with Westview scoring first behind the legs of senior RB Tyler Vasko. He scored from a yard out, his first of five on the night. Knights up 7-0.

A nice return put Highland at midfield and senior QB Jake Kersting marched the Hawks down the field, answering the bell and tying the score at 7 on Kersting's TD pass to Jared Zimmerman.

Westview went right back to the ground, scoring in just two plays. Senior RB Efrain Arechiga gained 58 yards and Vasko rumbled the additional 17. Westview up 14-7.

Highland's first miscue of the night came on their next drive. The Hawks again marched the field but coughed the ball up and Westview's Antonio Gilbert recovered the ball. But after forcing a punt, Highland knotted the score once again on a Kersting to Cooper Holman pass. 14-14.

Vasko scored from 48 yards out before halftime and put the Knights up 21-14.

That was as close as Highland would get as Vasko scored two second half TDs and gave Westview a 35-14 win.

Highland had chances but turned the ball over twice in the fourth quarter. The Westview rushing attack is tough with Vasko and Arechiga.
