Coyote defense dominates in 38-7 win over Westview

Westview scored the first points of the game but that would be their only lead as Centennial rattled off 38 straight points in route to a 38-7 win over the Knights on the Cox 7 Game of the Week.

Centennial fumbled the ball on their first play from scrimmage and Westview capitalized on a Ryan Martinez to Daryl Stagger TD pass to go up 7-0 but that would be the only lead the Knights would have.

Centennial answered on a 1 yard Taylor Fiame TD run that was set up by a Ruben Beltran to Marcus Wakeham pass that put the ball at the 5.

Beltran then hit Gleson Sprewell on a TD pass in the second quarter to give Centennial a 14-7 lead.

That looked like it would be the score headed into halftime but Westview snapped the ball over the punter's head with under a minute to go, Centennial recovered and kicked a short field goal to take a 17-7 lead at the half.

Junior RB Zidane Thomas scored two third quarters touchdowns, blowing the doors off this game. Centennial led 31-7 after three quarters.

They added a 4th quarter TD on a Beltran to Connor Sovacki TD pass.

Final: Centennial 38 Westview 7

Centennial's defense was spectacular! They shut down a very good Westview rushing attack. Westview had some chances to stay competitive but penalties really cost them tonight.

Game Balls

The Centennial defense, led by DE Andrew Nichols, as I mentioned above, was spectacular.

Junior RB Zidane Thomas scored two TDs for the Coyote offense.
