TJ Benson. Corona del Sol PG.

Playing with Cummard, Williams, Black, Chitwood, Calvin over the summer, it's time for Benson to shine for the Aztecs of Corona del Sol.

TJ Benson, SR. PG from Corona del Sol indicated that 2 schools have shown the most interest in his services in 2004. Benson returned last week from an unofficial visit at Northern Arizona University and was impressed with the Lumberjack program.  Also in contention is soon to be DI program UC Davis. UC Davis recently received a verbal from 6'8" post Chad Goldstein of Desert Mountain High School.  Benson will be headed up to UC Davis in the near future but is likely to wait until the spring signing date to decide.  Benson was the starting PG for the Arizona Cagers this past spring/summer.  The same AAU program as Lee Cummard(BYU), Duboise Williams and Germaine Calvin (UTAH).

Benson will lead the Aztecs of Corona del Sol and new coach Sammy Duane Jr.  Benson a solid PG will have plenty of help.  6'3" SR. Dan Winterbottom a wing who plays much bigger. 6'6" Craig Borengasser, a solid post who can shoot it to 17.  And unknown 6'10" Josh Spence, a physical post who could surprise many this year with his inside game.  Benson is clearly the leader and the success of the Aztecs rests on his shoulders.  A shooter who can stroke it from 20, TJ will earn the respect of every opposing Coach in 2003-2004.

More updates on the Aztecs and TJ Benson's recruitment as it comes in.
