Thanksgiving Day thoughts.

Thanksgiving day, a time to gather with family (talk to all our aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and show how interested we are in all that is going on in their lives), but in reality are only thinking about the first 2 days of the Arizona prep basketball season.

Thanksgiving Day thoughts on hoops:

Soph Lawerence Westerbrook has thrust himself on the Arizona Prep hoop scene with a breakout performance in his opener for the Chandler Wolves.

Harris and Desert Vista are for real.

Johnny Pinto and Dutch Perryman have proven they will be keys in Desert Vista success.

Jarred Bayless of St. Mary's (freshman) if for real.

Saguaro has talent, but the PG slot needs to be solidified before they are a legit State Title contender.

TJ Benson and Dan Winterbottom of Corona del Sol came ready to play. Josh Spence has hit double figures twice and is a huge factor in their success in 04.

PV has struggled in their first 2 games, but too much talent will prevail as they mesh in December.

Zach Greenberg of Desert Mountain is on our radar screen.

The Marcos de Niza Padres are receiving some negative pub, but like I always say, these people that have to put people down, rip players, parents or coaches do it for one reason only: IT MAKES THEM FEEL BETTER ABOUT THEMSELVES. The posters on the board know who they are, and so do I! The politics involved in AZ prep hoops is UNBELIEVABLE. And ridiculous. If you people knew who these posters are, you would be shocked at their true profession. CrashTheBoards.com should make a new policy, everybody register under their real name, then lets see what happens. My guess is a whole new ball game.

Mt. Ridge's JD Bittl and Robert Quaintance battle Deer Valley on Saturday for the PV Championship. I'll take MR by 9.

Jon Simon (former Slope Star) has earned the 6th man spot at Colgate University and scored 9 in his debut. I love it, considering I had battles with many parents on HOW HE CANNOT PLAY DI. Basically Simon just said in the opener, "STICK IT UP UR A$$!

Club Basketball news: Jeff Schneider has been hired on the Arizona Stars staff as a "consultant".

Well that's it and we will see everyone this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!
