Maricarmen from Miss Noha Elbaz's class did her thing with:

Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Written by Roald Dahl

Written for the screen by Roald Dahl

Directed by Mel Stuart

The movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is awful. It is based on the terrific book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The movie doesn't let you use your imagination. The movie doesn't give you much information. It is boring watching the Oompa Loompa's sing and sing.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is not exciting. I'd rather be doing chores than having to sit through it. When Charlie and the kids went on the boat just wanted to get up and leave because it is stupid. The scenery didn't work for me; it is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. If you want to see the movie go ahead, but don't say I didn't warn you, it's a waste of time. If you already own it you've wasted your money. If you're practically a grown-up like me then you'll find the movie childish because there is a lot of singing and dancing like the hokey pokey.

The movie and the book are different. The movie is called Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, where as the book is called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In the movie Grampa Joe and Charlie drink the Fizzy Lifting drink and in the book they didn't. Charlie is good in the book and bad in the movie. He was a good, innocent boy in the book, but they've changed his personality in the movie.

The movie is terrible. The book is better. Some of you might say that watching a movie is better than reading but in this case just read the book. It is a despicable movie. Don't go out and buy it, instead sit down and read the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Lisset S. of Miss Kerianne Ryan's class brings you the "nasty" truth about:

The Witches

Written by Roald Dahl

Written for the screen by Allan Scott

Directed by Nicolas Roeg

I didn't like the movie The Witches because it was an idiotic, dull, nasty movie. The book was way better. The beginning of the book was so idiotic because the girl would movie places on the picture. It was also an appalling movie because it's dumb when they turn people in to rats. It is nasty when all the witches are turning into rates, plus the green stuff that comes out of their ears when they are transforming into rats is gross. I thought it was really nasty because the beginning is idiotic, and the ending is so nasty.

The Witches is a movie about a boy and his grandmother and their plan to turn all the witches into rats. The characters are Luke, Grandmother, and the Grand High Witch. The actor for Grandmother is Mai Zetterling, Luke is Jason Fisher and Anjelica Huston plays the Grand High Witch. I think the genre of the movie is a fairy tale because there is no way you could turn somebody into a rat. The book was also written in 1990. It's a pretty old book.

Do not see this horrifying movie because it has a lot of changes from what the book has. I also didn't like the characters. I didn't like the way they acted especially The Grand High Witch. In the meeting she acts all perfect. It also has nasty parts like when the witches turn into rats it showed her frightful face, at the end of the movie it showed the kid unfurnished. It is also nasty because the witches don't have toes, and squared feet. Do not see the movie because it has a lot of changes. It also didn't have good characters and it was nasty.

You could contrast and compare stuff from the book and the movie. In the movie it changed my favorite part of the book, the beginning where it has all five stories about the kids that disappeared and in the movie it only mentions one. Luke exists as the narrator in the movie, but in the book he doesn't have a name.

Belen M of Miss Elbaz's class on Tuck Everlasting

"Jonathon Jackson (Jesse) needs to find another job besides acting because he sucks.  The person who decided to put Alexis Bledel (Winnie) in the movie is an idiot.  I think he or she needs to slap themselves, think twice next time, and be ashamed of how this dumb film came out."

Key'l H of Miss Ryan's class on "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"

"It's good for all ages, you should really see the movie and read the book because both are fascinating and fun to read and watch."

Morgan T of Miss Elbaz's class on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

"All the characters do in the movie is argue, if you sit there and watch them argue it will make you lose your marbles!"
