On Day 4, our last day of Kids Take Over, Morgan T. finished us off with a bang.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Written by Roald Dahl
Written for the screen by Roald Dahl
Directed by Mel Stuart
I would rather be writing a five-page essay about George Washington than watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The book was marvelous; the movie was a waste of time. The movie should have never been made. It messes up the book; it changes its originality. In the movie Charlie's personality is different and this makes him sound bad because he doesn't listen to Willy Wonka.
It's about this boy that finds one of five golden tickets and gets to go into Willy Wonka's Factory. That's mainly all that happened. I can't tell you the end or it will ruin the whole movie for you if you have not seen the movie. But the end is not all that special.
The book was good. It was good because it was funny when all of the kids except Charlie had bad stuff happen to them. My favorite part of the book was when Augustus Gloop got stuck in the pipe because he's fat.
You should not watch the movie AT ALL! All the characters do in the movie is argue. If you sit there and watch them argue it will make you lose your marbles! Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) should choose a new career cause his acting is horrible. Actually all the characters should choose a new career.
If you try to compare the movie and the book you can't. There is not that much to compare, the only things that are the same are the characters names and that Charlie is going to a Chocolate Factory. It's better to have squirrels than geese because the squirrels were funnier. I'm glad Veruca Salt got sent down the garbage chute, because she is a brat, all she said was, "Daddy I want this!" and "Daddy I want that!"
The book is way better than the movie. If you want to watch it go right ahead. If you like to watch little people make chocolate and sing than watch it. It's your kind of movie. But I recommend that you read the book.
