2005 Player Profile - Tareq Ramirez

Overcoming a broken wrist in his sophomore season, this kid can flat out play.

Coronado's junior sensation Tareq Ramirez is making a name for himself this season as he leads his Coronado Dons into the 4A Top Ten for the first time in several years. Ramirez is the heart and sole of a small, but aggressive school team.

At 6'2", 180 pounds of solid muscle, his athleticism and knowledge of the game has become very apparent as several of the top teams in the state have come to find out. In Coronado's first game against cross town rival Saguaro, they had no answer as Ramirez lit them up for 36 points. But he can't do it all on his own. He is surrounded by other top players, who together, make this small but feisty bunch a team you don't want to take lightly. Parris Allison-Greene, Brandon Chiarelli, Frankie Onorato, Brandon Outcalt, and others make up a team who come to play each and every day.

Coach Chrisman has a lot to look forward this season, and even a brighter picture looms large for the Dons as several of these players return next season. Ramirez is another coach's dream. Very coachable, very aggressive, and plays the entire game end to end. Not only is Tareq smart on the court, he's got what it takes in the class room as well.
