"I'm having a particularly difficult time choosing," said the articulate youngster from Corona Del Sol HS. "It will be very tough for me and I'm looking for as much time as possible to narrow down my schools after I get back from my visit this weekend to Tennessee (1/23).
"I chose Tennessee because I wanted to visit another school outside of the Pac-10 and my mom agreed to let me go there. I've never been to the state before.
"I'll decide I guess on national Letter-of-Intent Day. Ironically, all of my favorites still have a chance, but if I had to name a top three, it would be Stanford (1/16).
"The highlight of my trip to Stanford was the basketball game. I got to see the student section really at work there. The hosts were very supportive of their fellow athletes, more so than at any other school I've been to. That type of comaraderie is hard to find.
"The football game vs USC stands out for my trip to Notre Dame. The fans there were amazing. Even in a very difficult defeat for them they showed so much loyalty.
"At ASU I enjoyed their fantastic victory over Oregon. And old friends like Michael Pollak and Bret Nenaber are playing for the Sun Devils.
"I'm pretty analytical and meticulous. I think I'll be able to make the correct decision when I have to. Where would I go if I had to decide now? I guess I just wouldn't go to college.
"No...but if I had to go with my gut, I'd go with Arizona State. They are so close to home and I've been there the most. I know I could be comfortable if I go there."
What about UCLA? "They aren't in my top three now even though I'm still seriously thinking about them. I had an outstanding trip there (12/19) but I backed off from them when they fired their OL coach. But they are still talking with me a lot. I'm in touch with coach Cable.
"They could still be number one on my list. Coach Cable is a traditional, sound, technical guy and that's attractive to me. My ultimate goal is to make it into the League.
"I'm looking for an overall fit and the fit seems like it has been different with every team."
