4A Playoff Travel---Shame on the AIA!

Had Nogales won last night at Coconino, they would've had to return north again today to play Saguaro. Let's look at the travel times...

$$$Had Nogales won last night at Coconino, they would've had to return north again today to play Saguaro.

Let's look at the travel times.  The trip from Nogales to Flagstaff by bus is at least 6 hours one way.  That puts Nogales back home at 3:00 am and players get to bed at 3:30.  They then have to pop out of bed and be in class by 8:00 am.

To arrive at Saguaro in time for today's game would've required a 2:30 pm departure time as it's at least a 3 ½ hour drive to north Scottsdale.  After the game another 3 ½ hour ride home arriving at midnight-thirty.

Had Apollo beaten Amphitheatre Tuesday night at Tucson Amphi, the Hawks would've been on the bus at noon today to travel to Page………..a six hour drive by bus.

And had Cienega defeated Independence at Glendale, they'd a been on the bus for Buckeye at 3:00 pm this afternoon.

The AIA really treats its "student-athletes" well, don't ya think?  Sounds like torture to me!  Why can't the AIA suits schedule the games a day apart at least?

$$$ I mentioned the long line to attempt entry into Millennium's gym last night.  Chinle fans are extreme addicts for their teams and will travel hundreds of miles to support them.  Thousands of fans follow along.

I couldn't take a chance of not getting in so I bailed out for my 2nd choice.  Fortunately it was only 20 minutes away.

I walk into Independence's gym 15 minutes prior to game time last night and think I've walked into a funeral for some dude without any friends.  No people, no noise!

Indy's gym has upper and lower sections on both sides.  The upper sections
were closed.

By halftime, the Indy fans had not even filled the small lower section across from the scorer's table.  What a joke!

You Indy people need to wake up.  You have an exciting team that plays hard AND YOU'RE IN THE STATE PLAYOFFS!  HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO………..

$$$ No upsets last night but look for one tonight.  Can Coconino shock Saguaro?  It's possible.  And Chaparral played McClintock close earlier this season.  If the Firebirds can contain Jermaine Calvin somewhat, the ghosts of McClintock doom will dance until morning.
