Krueger Headed To Arizona State

Mountain Pointe alum Bryson Krueger has given a verbal to Arizona State according to sources close to the program.

Krueger, who will have three years of eligibility at Arizona State, was named 2004 ACCAC Player of the Year.

A week ago Krueger was arrested by Yavapai campus police following a verbal altercation and alleged harassment of a female student. He and three other starters for the team were dismissed from the team following the incident.

Penn Valley tried to slow down the up-tempo style of Glendale early in the first half and succeeded in taking the Gauchos out of their element winning 93 to 82. Even though they were slowing it down the Scouts still managed to score 41 points in the first half (41-28), due to shooting 7-12 from 3 (58.3%). Kevin Martin of Penn Valley showed off his skills getting 13 points and 8 rebounds in the first half, he finished with a game high 27 points and 10 rebounds. The second half was more of the same with Penn Valley out working the Gauchos in the paint. Glendale ended the game shooting only 44% from the field to the Scouts 57%. Glendale did manage to out rebound Penn Valley 39 to 27.

Lewis & Clark  defeated the Gauchos of Glendale 85-79. This game was dominated by the overall play of Lewis & Clark's Cory Sims who had 19 points and 5 rebounds in the first half giving the Trailblazers the 45-33 lead going into the locker room. Sims didn't stop their slashing into the lane and keeping up with Glendale's frantic pace to finish with an amazing 30 points and 12 rebounds. Glendale showed signs of hope being down 82-71 with one minute remaining sophomore Ryan Nelson put on a scoring display scoring 8 points in the last minute, but it was too little too late. Lewis & Clark shot 82% as a team from the free throw line to Glendale's 33%.
