Julliaan Irvin Is Back

The long road back is finally over. After suffering a knee injury almost 2 years ago, Julliaan Irvin is back to claim the 2006 #1 PG slot in Arizona...

Its been a long, frustrating year for Julliaan Irvin. Now he's back, playing with Desert Vista in the Tempe Summer League and the CTB National Travel Team. Irvin went down last summer and since that time this premier point guard has been recovering from two knee surgeries. He's back, bigger, stronger, and believe it, quicker than ever.

Dealing with all the false hopes of starts and stops associated with rehabilitation has been tough. Irvin attempted a comeback right before the State Finals but his knee wouldn't let him. Now everything seems fine and he's ready to take his place as the quickest point guard in the state.

Irvin, a 5-9 Point Guard has drawn comparisons to former University of San Francisco great Orlando Smart. Smart, a 5-9 PG out of Austin Texas, came into the West Coast Conference an unknown, but quickly established himself as one of the Country's top floor generals. Named an NCAA Freshman All-American, Smart broke Kenny Anderson's (Georgia Tech) all time NCAA freshman assist record. Irvin at this stage of his development is farther along than Smart. Irvin, with continued improvement and experience, will no doubt be a Top PG in the West Coast. in 06, and have the same impact as Smart at the NCAA DI level.

That experience will start this summer leading the CTB All Stars National Travel Team with a tune-up in the ASU Team Camp this coming weekend. In July, CTB will be competing in Adidas Three Stripes (Los Angeles), The Big Time (Las Vegas), and Best of Summer (Los Angeles).

By the end of July Julliaan Irvin will be the most talked about 06' point guard in Arizona!
