After 5 months of intense Club Basketball, Devin Stewart has proven he is a Top 10 Class of 2005 in Arizona and without a doubt has proven he is the top 2005 PG in Tucson.
Stewart led a group of Class of 2005-2006 All-Stars playing against the top competition in the Country in Las Vegas and California.
With the mental toughness of a fullback, uncanny ability to score in traffic and workethic of a star, Stewart makes everybody around him better. With continued improvement shooting off the dribble, Stewart will generate interest from LM-MM Schools, and has already drawn interest from schools across the West Coast and Midwest. After a 20+ win over Kansas City Pump-N-Run this past week, Coaches from Tulsa, Dayton, Bradley, Illinois State and Evansville scattered to find out who he is and who is currently recruiting Stewart.
Stewart led his 2004 Santa Rita Eagles team to an impressive season in the tough 4A Kino Region. As their leading scorer and assist man, Stewart has been the starting PG for Santa Rita since his freshman year. With many of their players heading to new rival school Cienega two years ago, Stewart and longtime teammate Kyle Carney stayed loyal to their school and have continued to improve each and every season.
With Stewart's leadership, the Eagles knocked off Phoenix Thunderbird, the state's returning 4A champion, in the first round of the playoffs. They finished their season with an overtime loss to #2 Greenway.
Look for the Stewart led Eagles to battle for the top spot in 4A and likely to end up this spring in AWA and a possible 4A crown.
