Arizona's returning 2,000-yard man, Centennial High senior running back
Terry Longbons, recently confirmed his top five college choices
to SchoolSports.com as the University of Arizona, ASU, Notre Dame, Oregon and
UCLA – running contrary to reports a month ago that he was firmly decided on the
Wildcats. The 5-11, 205-pound returning All-State back rushed for 2,053 yards
and 28 touchdowns as a junior and is closing in on the state
"The size and skill of college players is intimidating," admits Longbons, who turns 19 next May 22. "But I'll take it all in stride. I'm sure you get used to it. I'm looking forward to it and I'm excited about it."
Last season, Longbons ran for 2,053 yards while averaging nine yards per carry and scored 28 touchdowns. He needs 2,500 yards to become the state's leading rusher of all-time. Longbons, as a junior, was selected to the super-state team in 2003. He was the only junior to earn that honor. He was also recognized as first team all-state, area offensive player of the year and all-region offensive player of the year.
