Explanation:

The BCS formula in recent years was a complicated mess. This year it is
very simple - the AP Poll, ESPN/Coaches' Poll and the Computer polls
(averaged) each are worth 1/3 of the total points. For the AP and ESPN
polls, the points toward the BCS are determined by taking the points
received by a team divided by the total points possible. For the 6
computer polls, the highest and lowest scores are thrown out, leaving 4
computers. The remaining computers will have their ranks assigned points:
#1 = 25 pts, #2 = 24 pts, etc. The four computer scores will then be added
up and divided by 100. The total is then the sum of the AP score (times
1/3), the ESPN score (times 1/3) and the Computer score (times 1/3).
Higher number is better.

This BCS-like comparison utilizes the same formula. Each pollster's
rankings are assigned points based on the number of teams in their poll
(since not all polls have the same amount of teams) and then run through
the formula. In the case of the computer ranking which ranks ALL teams,
the rankings only go as far as the largest poll - if 24-7 Football ranks
13 teams and the Arizona Republic ranks only 10, the DKC Rankings will go
to only 13 teams and assign points accordingly.
