Cody Jones has narrowed his recruitment to three schools. "I'd say Cal leads slightly over Colorado and Oregon," said Jones. "I am visiting there for the Stanford game on November 20th and I haven't scheduled my visits with Colorado and Oregon yet, but I will soon."
Of the three, Cal likes him at defensive end and CU and Oregon are not sure where they like him, but have talked more about tight end. "Right now, defensive end is a more natural position to me because I have played it before. I am starting to come around to tight end, though. I am becoming more comfortable with the position."
This is his first year ever playing tight end.
On the season, he has 19 receptions for 453 yards and six touchdowns for 7-2 Sabino. He has passed the ball for 110 yards on 4-9 with one touchdown. On defense, Jones has 24 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
He has taken unoffical visits to Cal and CU before. He visited Boulder for the one-day camp on July 31st and Cal on August 7th.
Jones will be looking for two main things when he takes his official visits. "The coaches and the education will be the most important things for me. Obviously Cal offers a better education than the others and I think that is kind of why my mom likes them the best. My dad does not have a favorite."
He says the three schools are recruiting him equally. Jones is no loger interested in Purdue because he says it doesn't seem like they have made him a priority like the other schools.
Sabino takes on Palo Verde, tonight.
