24-7Football.com's Playoff Power Rankings (11/15)

Only eight teams remain standing in each division after 11 weeks of football. 24-7 took on the unenviable task of putting together a ranking on those who remain.

1.) Hamilton (10-1) – The Huskies were the #2 seed headed into the playoffs but move into the top spot as #1 Paradise Valley was knocked off. They beat #15 seed North last week 54-3 and face #7 seed Salpointe this week.

2.) Red Mountain (10-1) – Red Mountain entered the playoffs as the #4 seed with their only loss on the year coming to Mt. View. They beat #13 seed St. Mary's last week 52-7 and face a very tough Brophy team this week.

3.) Brophy (10-1) – Brophy entered the playoffs as the #5 seed with their only loss coming to PV. They shut down a young Maryvale squad last week, winning 55-20. They face Red Mountain this week.

4.) Highland (8-3) – I know we have said this before but, is there a hotter team than Highland? They have knocked off Hamilton, Chandler and Westwood in the last month. They were a very tough draw as the #14 seed in the playoffs and upset #3 Westwood 17-14. They travel to Corona this week.

5.) Mt View (8-3) – The 3 losses for this team is very deceiving as they all came to playoff teams by a total of 6 points. With the pedigree of this school, I would not underestimate them at all. They entered the playoffs as the #9 seed and beat Chandler 16-13 last week. They face a tough Mt. Ridge squad this week.

6.) Corona (9-2) – Corona started off the season with a 1-2 record but have since rattled off 8 straight wins and are looking to be the Cinderella story of this year's playoffs. The Aztecs have had the reputation of never being able to beat Desert Vista never going deep in the playoffs. Well, they broke both of those stereotypes with a win of DV to claim the Central Region championship and came back from 17 points down to beat #6 Peoria. They entered the playoffs as the #11 seed and must face another hot team in Highland.

7.) Mt Ridge (7-4) – This is a team that has battled adversity all season long. They started off the year with a 1-4 record and lost not one but two D1 recruits in Nick Covey and Tim Ham. They moved Austin Martin to QB and won 5 straight to get into the playoffs as the #16 seed. They made noise last week as the beat #1 PV. They must travel to Mt. View this week for what is sure be a great game with a big crowd.

8.) Salpointe (8-3) – This is another team that started off slowly, losing 3 out of their first 5 games. But have since been on a roll winning 6 in a row. They entered the playoffs as the #7 seed and defeated Canyon del Oro last week. They get a tough draw this week as they must travel to Hamilton to play the Huskies.

1.) Sunnyside (11-0) – This team smoked through the regular season and I have to go with the defending champs until proven otherwise. The Blue Devils entered the playoffs as the #3 seed and dismantled Coconino 47-6. They face Saguaro this week.

2.) Centennial (11-0) – The Coyotes were only challenged once during the regular season and that was by Chaparral. They entered the playoffs as the #1 seed and manhandled McClintock 49-7. They face Chaparral for a rematch in the 2nd round.

3.) Moon Valley (11-0) – The knock on Moon Valley has been their soft schedule but they may have silenced some critics with their 47-12 win over Sabino. They entered the playoffs as the #4 seed and face their biggest challenge yet when they face a very good Flagstaff team this week. They do luck out and play them at home.

4.) Flagstaff (10-1) – Flagstaff cruised through the regular season playing tough defense. They ran into a speed bump in the season finale when they lost to Coconino and ended up getting the #5 seed. They rebounded nicely with a win over #12 Independence. They make the trip down to the valley this week to play Moon Valley.

5.) Saguaro (10-1) – Saguaro has won 10 straight with their last loss coming in week 1 to Cactus. They entered the playoffs as the #6 seed and used an effect ground game to beat #12 Amphi. They make the trip down to Tucson to play Sunnyside this week.

6.) Chaparral (8-3) – Chap is the Mt View of 4A, they come to play in the playoffs. They entered the playoffs as the #8 seed and took care of Prescott in the 1st round. They will be looking to avenge their early season loss to Centennial this week.

7.) Cactus (10-1) – Cactus kept finding ways to win throughout the regular season until they lost to Centennial in week 10. They still entered the playoffs as the #2 seed and beat a very dangerous Millennium team in the 1st round. They must face a very under-rated Cienega team this week.

8.) Cienega (9-2) – No one expected Cienega to still be here. They lost a ton of players to graduation yet still won 8 games during the regular season. They are the #7 seed and are looking to upset #2 Cactus this week.
