Player Spotlight: Glyndon Bolasky

<STRONG>Interview with Sabino Star RB</STRONG>

Last year, Sabino RB Glyndon Bolasky quietly jumped into the ranks as one of the top players in AZ. This year, Glyndon will not be sneaking up as he is getting recruiting attention from across the nation and looks to lead a loaded Sabino team to a playoff run. This is what the 24-7 #2 ranked RB had to say…


24-7 What were your stats from last season?

Glyndon Bolasky: 1550 yards on 161 carries, 135 yards on 6 receptions and 17 TDs.


24-7: What is your official height and weight?

Glyndon: 6'0'' 190lbs.


24-7: What is your greatest football memory?

Glyndon: Running an 80 yard TD against Moon Valley on the first play of the game during the first round of the 2004 AZ playoffs.


24-7: What are your goals for the upcoming season?

Glyndon: 2000+yards, 11+ yards per carry and 25+ TDs.


24-7: How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?

Glyndon: Hitting the weights hard and participating in passing tournaments.  I will attend the Nike and other combines and various college camps.


24-7: What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve?

Glyndon: I always work on my speed.


24-7: What area would you like to keep improving on?

Glyndon: Speed, explosiveness and lateral movement.


24-7: Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?

Glyndon: Brooks Reed (FB/DE), Codi Harshman (WR), Brandon Hodgeson (OL) and Andy Threlkeld (DB).


24-7: Name one teammate you really respect and why?

Glyndon: Brooks Reed (fullback) because we push each other in the weight room and on the field, he also makes great blocks for me.


24-7: What are your goals regarding playing football in college?

Glyndon: To get playing time with a strong program and win a bowl game.


24-7: Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?

Glyndon: Stanford, ASU, UCLA, Oregon, UofA, BYU, Nevada and Purdue. I am also in contact with others such as, Duke and some Ivy League Schools.  Last week I received an offer from NMSU. (Since the interview Glyndon has received offers from UofA, BYU and Georgia Tech).


24-7: Would you consider staying in state to play in college?

Glyndon: Yes.


24-7: Tell us about the UCLA junior day you recently attended? Any plans on attending any other junior days?

Glyndon: I had a great opportunity to see a spring practice as well as meet the coaches, see the facilities and tour the campus.


24-7: What would your top 5 college choices be?

Glyndon: At this point I am in contact with a lot of schools and I want to wait to see where I would fit the best.


24-7: Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?

Glyndon: Chris McGaha (States leading receiver).


24-7: Name one opponent who you really respect and why?

Glyndon: I try to give equal respect to all of my opponents.


24-7: What other sports do you play?

Glyndon: Track.


24-7: What are your best lifts in the bench, squat, clean and 40?

Glyndon: bench 275, squat 425, clean 305 and 40 4.41.


24-7: How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?

Glyndon: Dedicated and hard working.


24-7: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Glyndon: The view from the summit is worth the effort.


24-7: Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?

Glyndon: State Champions.


24-7: What can a college program expect from you as a player?

Glyndon: A college can expect an athlete with complete dedication who has the ability to lead by example. I will always strive to excel on the field as well as in the classroom.
