Coble Showcasing Talents on National Level

The critics of Kevin Coble have been stifled (because he plays for a 2A school), he has proved over the last 2 weeks he can play with the BIG BOYS...

Kevin Coble, 6-7 JR Wing, Phoenix (Ariz.) Scottsdale Christian Academy.

Coble has long been considered a question mark with his 2A level of competition, but after his last 2 showings (Vegas/Houston Kingwood) he has proved his DI ranking.

We were impressed with Coble last week in Las Vegas and he was even better in Houston.

Named to the Kingwood All-Tournament Team, we have learned Coble has become a top target for the Princeton Tigers of the Ivy League. Other schools are continuing to evaluate his ability over the next 3 months, including Northwestern of the Big Ten.

Coble, a catch and shoot wing, has the ability to see the floor, shoot off a quick bounce and has good hops. He needs to bulk up to have same success at next level. His aggressiveness around the glass needs to elevate along with his ability to attack the rim in traffic, but he will with time and confidence playing at a high level over the next 3 months. Coble can knock down jump shots when given time and space. He struggles to get his own shot when closely defended on the perimeter. However, he is one of the top small forwards in the west and battles Stephen Rogers, 6-8 JR Wing, Mesa (Ariz) Mountain View, as the top wing prospect in the Class of 2006 in Arizona.
