One of the high points for Greenway football last season was the play of QB Nathan Hodges.  Look for Hodges to help the Demons rebound from a rare down season as he attempts to get his team to the playoffs.

24-7: What were your stats last season?

Nathan Hodges: My stats for last season are I passed for 1992 yards
and completed 56% of my passes. 19tds and 9ints.

24-7: What will Greenway need to do to return to playing playoff style football?

Nathan Hodges: This year greenway will have to work extremely hard in the weight room and on the field to get back to the caliber team we used to be. Hopefully with the experience of all our returning juniors will give us an edge for this upcoming season.

24-7: What is your official height and weight?

Nathan Hodges: I weigh 170 and I'm 5'11.

24-7: What is your greatest football memory?

Nathan Hodges: My greatest memory would have to be my freshman year
getting a chance to go to ASU when we made it to state.  That is a feeling like no other to be able to play in that stadium.

24-7: What are your personal goals for the upcoming season?

Nathan Hodges: I only have one goal this season and that is to lead
my team to a state title because that is the only thing that truly matters.

24-7: How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?

Nathan Hodges: I'm preparing for this season like every other one. I'm
going to continue to work as hard as I can in the weight room and on other areas of my game like speed and agility and precision passing.  I'm not sure on
what camps I'm going to attend this summer.

24-7: What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?

Nathan Hodges: I have been working on my passing mainly and my
ability to make quick reads.  Physically I need to work on my strength and speed.

24-7: Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?

Nathan Hodges: People should watch out for Kenton Thomas and my receivers Dave Hofmann and Daniel Oakey.

24-7: Name one teammate you really respect and why?

Nathan Hodges: I really respect  my center Zack Himmelberger because
he has the hardest work ethic of anyone on the team and he is always looking to improve himself in every aspect of the game.

24-7: What are your goals regarding playing football in college?

Nathan Hodges: I would like to get a scholarship to play ball.

24-7: Would you consider staying in state to play in college?

Nathan Hodges: I'm considering playing wherever I can get a
scholarship. Where ever that might be, in state or not.

24-7: Who is the best player you ever played against?

Nathan Hodges: The best player I played against would probably be
Chris McGaha because he was always able to make the big plays that would change the outcome of the game.

24-7: Name one team who you really respect and why?

Nathan Hodges: One team that I really respect is Chaparral.  They
always play extremely hard and they don't have to play dirty to win games.

24-7: What other sports do you play?

Nathan Hodges: I also play baseball at Greenway.

24-7: What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?

Nathan Hodges: My best max lifts are 235 bench, 360 squat, 250 clean
and I ran the 40 in 4.7 sec.

24-7: How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?

Nathan Hodges: I think he would describe me as a hard worker and a student of the game.  I always try my hardest and I'm always learning from my mistakes and taking in any advice I can get

24-7: Who is your favorite pro athlete and why?

Nathan Hodges: My favorite pro football player would have to be Peyton Manning.  The way he plays the game is ideal for all high school quarterbacks

24-7: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? Who did you receive it from?

Nathan Hodges: I would say the best piece of advice I've received would be "if you work hard and put the time and effort into it, you can do anything." I got that one from both my parents.

24-7would like to thank Nathan and Coach Brown for their help with this interview.
