Player Spotlight: JC Klatt

Interview with Trevor Browne O-Tackle

Our next interview comes from Trevor Browne OT JC Klatt. Klatt really started to come into his own last year and earned 2nd team all region for his efforts. At 6'6 and with a frame to grow, expect JC to get some looks from some recruiters. What may be hurting JC and other TB players is the fact that the school has not hired a new head coach, leaving JC as a player that is till pretty much unknown. JC is currently ranked the #3 OL on the 24-7 top OL rankings.


24-7 What is your official height and weight?

JC Klatt: 6'6 245.

24-7: What is your greatest football memory?

JC: My freshman year I was playing DT and got an interception and returned it for a 40 yard touchdown.

24-7: What are your goals for the upcoming season?

JC: Our goal as a team is to play Bruin football and make the playoffs.

24-7: How are you preparing for the upcoming season?

JC: I am working out and planning to attend the ASU and UofA camps.

24-7: What aspect of your game have you worked hard to improve?

JC: I have really been working on getting off the ball faster and stronger.

24-7: Who are some teammates that people should watch out for?

JC: Jimmy Reynolds (LB/FB), Jerron Miller (LB/RB) and Augy Cortinas (QB/DB).

24-7: Name one teammate that you respect and why?

JC: Jimmy Reynolds because he is a good player and works hard.

24-7: What are your goals regarding playing college football?

JC: Being the best I can be and help our team win.

24-7: Who is currently recruiting you? Any early offers?

JC: I have received recruiting letters from ASU, Oregon, Nevada, BYU, Utah State and New Mexico State. No offers at this time.

24-7: Would you consider staying in state to play college?

JC: Yes.

24-7: Currently what would your top 5 college choices be?

JC: ASU, Oregon, Boise State, Oregon State, Cal.

24-7: Who is the best player you ever played against?

JC: Austin Martin, Mountain Ridge QB (signed with NAU). He is very athletic and can take control of a game.

24-7: Who is one opponent that you respect and why?

JC: Maryvale and Jermaine Williams. Our game went to overtime and we lost by one point. A lot of the players on both teams have been friends for a long time and some of us played on the same teams and went to school together in the past. Neither team gave up. It was a great game.


24-7: What other sports do you play?

JC: Baseball.

24-7: What is your best lift in the bench, squat, clean and 40?

JC: Bench 260, Squat 375, Clean 225, 40 4.9

24-7: How would your coach describe you as a player?

JC: Big, physical, smart and a hard worker.

24-7: Who is your favorite athlete and why?

JC: Michael Vick. He does it all.

24-7: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

JC: Stay Low.

24-7: What can we expect from Trevor Browne this year?

JC: You can expect us to make the playoffs.

24-7: What position do you think you will play in college?

JC: OT or DT.

24-7: What can a college program expect from you as a player?

JC: They can expect me to get good grades and I will always give everything on the field.
