West Coast 2006 Point Guards

Kal Bay, 6-1 PG from Marcos de Niza tabbed at #8...

The class of West Coast point guards for 2006 is about as shallow as we've ever seen. Simply put, the position of point guard is becoming something of an endangered species. Very few players understand how to play the position. Lawrence, though, is one player who gets it. He's our top ranked point guard at this time, mainly because of his great feel for the game. He's an old school point who runs a team and makes his teammates better. He's not the quickest guy, or the best shooter, but he does what has to be done for his team to win. Oliver is not a true one, but rather a shooting guard that we believe has a chance to play the one. He's a versatile guard who can score, but also has an excellent understanding of how to play the game. Eatmon might have the best upside of the point guards in the class. He's got a very good body, with length and quickness, as well as a nice shot to the stripe. Lowenthal was out of action this past spring due to an injury, but he's got a solid shot and playmaking ability. Navarre has improved his shot and he's now a threat beyond the stripe. He's fairly quick and has become adept at getting in the lane to create for his teammates.
