Tale of the Tape

Video breakdown of Cholla QB Cody House.

Bio: Lefty QB Cholla High School.  2 time all region selection.  6'0 200 pounds 4.8 40.

Breakdown: (Bits and pieces of the last two seasons cut into a 20 min highlight tape)

Cody House of Cholla H.S. enters the 2005 football season ranked as one

of 24-7football.com top 50 seniors in Arizona.  This tape shows plenty of Cody's best plays over the last two seasons, it would probably be better to watch a complete game as well as a highlight style tape.

Positives: Cody is a very good athlete and a top notch high school QB.  He shows good accuracy and solid running abilities.  One of the most impressive parts to Cody's game is his feet.  He routinely displays good footwork and moves well within the pocket.  Cody is a very good athlete, so he has abilities to turn a broken play into a big play.

Negatives: From a negative standpoint, Cody has most of the same small issues that other high school quarterbacks have.  He tends to lock onto receivers from the snap.  House tends to put a little too much air under the ball, in particular on the deep ball.  Lastly, he has a habit of dropping the ball around his waist before getting into the throwing motion.

Bottom line: Cody House is a tremendous high school quarterback, who almost every coach in the state of Arizona would love to have.  How does his game transfer to the next level?  House is a little undersized to play at a major D1 school.  However, because of his abilities, I feel that several DII type schools will be calling for his services.  He also might be a prime candidate to play football at the JUCO level in Arizona.
