B A L L A R D!

And it is not the Coach! Son Jordan has become a top PG in the State of Arizona!

When you hear the name Ballard, what comes to mind? The spread(which I love by the way), Coach, Mt Pointe? How bout one of the best returning PG's in the State! If not one of the top 2…..

5'10" Jr. Jordan Ballard of Mt. Pointe will finally break out of the shadow of Dad in 2003. Not because he is transferring, but because this kid can play! The floor general & southpaw is a coaches kid, who not only can stroke it, but has the court savvy and vision to lead the Mt. Pointe Pride to the top of the 5A Division. Unnoticed and not respected as a player primarily because of his last name(coaches kids get the bad rap, but in this case Jordan SHOULD NOT). Which is totally unfair and unwarranted. Jordan thrives under pressure, which he showed throughout the state playoffs in 2002. His teammates respect him, his opponent will respect him, and College Coaches better recruit him.

Playing in the shadow of Sam or any father-son combo is difficult, but Jordan thrives on it, and it shows when the game is on the line. This past year he it pressure 3 after pressure 3 when it counted, and more importantly makes everyone he plays with better!

Mt. Pointe in some ignorant minds underachieved this past season (I for one am not one of them). But watch out, this team could be even better. AZPrep.com ranks the Mt. Pointe Pride #4 heading into 2002-2003. Jordan Ballard could prove us wrong and sneak in to win it all.
