"Hired Gun"

32-1 in 2002, Ashley Prince will help lead the Hawks back to AWA to claim what they felt was theirs! A State Championship!

Highland High School, 5'9", Ashley Prince

The Hawks return 3 key players in 2002-2003, but none could be the key more than 5'9" Sr. Ashley Prince to capture the 5A State Championship. A key contributor last season for a team who went 32-1. Prince will step up this season and become a star herself. Known for her long-range bombs, Prince will be asked to help lead Highland on and off the court. The "Hired Gun" of Gilbert, along with KT Creech and Erin O'Bryan has the pressure of being the wanted one after a stellar 2002 season. With 2003 wide open in the 5A women's race, Prince and company have to step up and raise the bar after surprising everyone and blowing by the competition until finally being stopped by eventual champ Mt. Pointe.

Prince, a natural pure shooter, will have to take the pressure off all everything Erin O'Bryan and "Special K" T Creech. Following this summer's progress, Coach Miner Webster has been excited about his 3rd key, and looks for Prince to be a major factor for the Hawks.

With all eyes on Highland, it's gonna be a war for the 5A crown, but with the "Hired Gun" of Gilbert, look for the Hawks to claim the title that everyone felt belonged to the Hawks in 2002.
