Exclusive interview with Mt. Ridge CB Jon Ott after committing to Nevada.
Scout.com: Why Nevada?
Ott: "I really like all the coaches at Nevada. On my trip the players were really cool and all the facilities were really nice. I feel like I have a chance to play early."
Scout.com: What other offers did you have?
Ott: "BYU offered me early and also UNLV. Other schools are still talking to me even though I committed."
Scout.com: Compare all of your trips.
Ott: "Nevada seemed more like home to me then any of the other places I went. It also was easy to make a decision to play there because I will be playing with one of my best friends again Josh Morrow (Mt. Ridge WR that signed last year) and also rooming with my good friend Shane Anderson (WR from Saguaro HS that committed a few days prior)."
Scout.com: You played WR and DB this year, what position are you going to play?
Ott: "They want to start me off playing safety and maybe some corner. They like my size for safety but also said I could see some time on offense playing WR."
Scout.com: You had a setback and broke your collarbone this year, are you completely healthy now?
Ott: "I am almost fully healthy. About 90%. I can do most of my lifting again except some stuff that is hard on my collarbone. I should be 100% for baseball and when it is time to leave for college."
Scout.com: Are you fully qualified?
Ott: "Yes. I have a 3.75 GPA and did well on my ACT test."
Congrats to Jon and I am sure he made Wolfpack fans happy with his
