Q&A with quarterback Scott Burgett from Centennial HS (Peoria, AZ).

Scott Burgett: "1803 yards, 62% completion, 26 passing TDs, 2 rushing, 4 INTs, 1st team all-region, all state honorable mention."

What is your official height and weight?
"6-2 210."

What is your greatest football memory?
"Winning state championship junior year as a first year starter."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
"Region champs, state champs, 1st team all arizona and all region."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?
"Working on running and quickness, also throwing mechanics. Camps are still up in the air."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?
"I've worked hard to improve pocket movement. I would like to keep improving on that, throwing mechanics and overall speed."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
"Zach Schlink, Cory Woolery, Jarrell Barbour, Adam Shipley, Jeff Hughes, Seth Leake and Jerrell Peterson."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?
"Zach Schlink because his work ethic is outstanding and his drive is unstoppable."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?
"I want to become a starter and lead my team to win a bowl game."

Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?
"Nevada, Stanford, University of Illinios, Colorado, and Universty of Arizona. I currently have no offers."

Would you consider staying in state to play in college?
"Yes, I would consider staying in state to play college football."

What would your top 5 college choices be?
"Michigan, Stanford, ASU, Univ. of Florida and Miami."

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
"The best player I have played against is Jordan Dancer from Peoria High School. He played cornerback and knew how to disguise coverages and he broke on the ball very quickly."

Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
"One opponent who I respect is Kingman because they come to play every game even though the came up short most of the time."

What other sports do you play?
"I run track."

What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?
"Bench- 275, Squat-405, Power Clean- 260 and 40 yard dash- 4.68."

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
"He would describe me as a fearless leader who works hard in the classroom and on the field. Also, that I am very coachable."

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
"Strengths- Size, running, arm strength Weaknesses- Pocket Movement, Varsity game experience."

Who is your favorite athlete and why?
"Jevon Kearse- He is the "Freak". He is fearless out on the field and goes hard every down."

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
"Hard work, pays off, eventually" -Richard Taylor ( Head Coach for Centennial football team)

Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
"You can expect the same drive for the championship as last year, offense that is able to audible often, hard-hitting defense."

What can a college program expect from you as a player?
"Great work ethic, student of the game and a leader of the team."

What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score?
"G.P.A.- 3.9. I am taking the SAT in May."

What will the main factors be when you choose a school?
"The main factors will be education, sports program, location and climate."
