Derek Bisgard: "76 tackles, 9 sacks and 16 TFL's. AzFCA 4AI 1st team All State Defensive End, Arizona Republic 4AI 2nd team All State OL, Desert Sky 1st team All Region OL, Barry Sollenberger Defensive Player of the Week."

What is your official height and weight?
"6-0, 245."

What is your greatest football memory?
"Having the opportunity to play both sides of the ball in helping our team win the State Championship this past season."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
"To continue to get bigger, stronger, faster and win back to back state titles."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?
"I'm lifting almost everyday and have started a speed training program. I have a busy summer and I'm not sure which camps I will attend."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve?
"Reading blocks and my speed rush."

What area would you like to keep improving on?
"My footwork."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
"Chris Merrill OL/DE, Tim Ruben QB, Beau Burton RB, Corey Adams DT and Ben Bisgard LB."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?
"This was a tough choice but I will have to go with Tim Ruben and his amazing athleticism that I been able to watch for the past 9 years."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?
"To start and be looked upon as an asset to the program."

Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?
"Schools that have shown interest are Colorado, Washington St., Utah, Cal and U of A."
Would you consider staying in state to play in college?

What would your top 5 college choices be?
"Colorado, UCONN, Colorado St., Wash St. and NAU."

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
"Spencer Rothery RB from Chaparral. He was one tough kid to get on the ground."
Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
"Agua Fria's OL, they were the most physical team we faced all season. Broc Goulett #51 gave me a battle all night. "

What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?
"Bench 295, Squat 550, Power Clean 295, 40 5.0 hand timed at Saguaro."

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
"An intense hard nosed player that has a motor that never stops."

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
"My strengths are my on field instincts and intensity. My weakness is not being able to ace the sparq test and score over 100."

Who is your favorite athlete and why?
"Bill Romanowski for his intensity and ability to play with controlled rage."
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Believe in yourself and hard work always pays off.

Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
"I'm very excited about this season. We have a bunch of hungry players that expect to dominate."
What position do you think you will play in college?
"DE or center."

What can a college program expect from you as a player?
"To work hard with an unrelenting will to succeed."

What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score?
"GPA 3.16. I have not taken the SAT/ACT yet."
