Recruiting Update: Bryan Berens

QB Bryan Berens from Brophy Prep (Phoenix, AZ) shares his busy summer plans and updates with his latest recruiting news.

One can expect that being a 3-year starter at QB on a 5A perennial power that recruiting would be very busy. This is exactly the case for Bryan Berens from Brophy. Bryan has already taken a few unofficial visits and attended junior day at a Big 12 school. Berens took the time to update of his most recent suitors and summer plans.

The 6'2 210 pound lefty has been invited to junior days at Colorado, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Florida State, Ole Miss, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Illinois and Yale.  He attended the Cornhusker's junior day recently. He has taken unofficial visits to Colorado and Stanford. He also is considering attending junior day or making unofficial visits to Louisville, Illinois, Northwestern and Harvard.

Berens is planning on camping at one of the combines and is still deciding what college camps he will atend. He is still deciding between Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Northwestern, Nebraska, Colorado, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Harvard and Princeton.  "Camp plans are still dependent on summer football, logistics and continued interest by the programs involved," according to Berens father.

Berens currently does not hold an offer but is hoping to get one soon.

Over the past two seasons, Berens has performed admirably for the Bronocs, leading them to the state championship as a sophomore and into the playoffs last year. He completed 63.2% of his passes last year for 2,114 yards with 22 touchdowns versus only 5 interceptions. His play earned him 1st team all region honors as well as honorable mention all state.

Schools will not have to worry about Bryan's academic standing as he performs very well in the classroom. He currently holds a 4.26 GPA and scored a 2260 an the new version of the SAT. The NCAA still only uses the verbal and math section for eligibility and Berens scored a combined 1460 on those sections.
