Tight end Steven Figueroa from Desert Vista High School is rising quickly as one of the top prospects in the Grand Canyon state, and it is easy to see why.
Figueroa stands 6'5 and weighs 220 pounds. He claims a fastest forty of 4.76 (hand timed) and a best bench of 330 pounds. He shows the ability to run and block, has a frame to add a ton of weight and shows his athletic ability in track by being one of the top throwers in the state with a 60 foot shotput mark and 174 foot discus toss to his name.
College coaches have caught on and Figueroa has recently received three new offers. He says, Utah offered me today. Oregon State offered me on Tuesday and Arizona State offered on Wednesday." He already held an offer from UNLV and he feels that Arizona, Colorado and Washington all may offer soon. "Arizona has told me that they may offer with a good showing at their camp this summer, " he adds.
He currently lists Arizona State as his favorite but has no plans of committing at this time.
He says he plans on camping at both Arizona and Arizona State and maybe a few others.
Last season, Figueroa had 16 catches for 252 yards and 4 TDs while being named 2nd team all region.
Here are clips from Figueroa's sophomore and junior season. He is wearing #88.
