2007 Preseason QB Rankings

24-7Football.com releases their 1st set of player rankings in the state of Arizona. We start it off with the QBs.

Last season six QBs from Arizona signed division-one letters of intent. This season the QB crop looks just as deep. In fact, I have spent the entire off season debating on who I would rank as my top quarterback in my preseason rankings. My gut feeling all off season was that any of the top three QBs could make a case for the top spot. You could rank them 1A, 1B and 1C and not be wrong. They all have similar stats, similar builds and strong academics. Sean Renfree has recently been a very hot prospect after tearing up the combines this off season. He has garnered five offers and thus has set him apart from the others at this point.

Here are my preseason rankings. They are subject to change and not set in stone.

1. Sean Renfree- Notre Dame- 6-3 200- 56% 2483 yards 24 TDs 5 INTs- As I stated above, renfree has become a super hot prospect with the likes of Pete Carroll stopping by ND.

2. Bryan Berens- Brophy- 6-2 205- 62% 2102 yards 22 TDs 5 INTs. Has the intangibles that coaches like. He is smart, gutsy and knows how to win.

3. Scott Burgett- Centennial- 6-2 210- 62% 1803 yards 26 TDs 4 INTs- Led team to state title in first year as a starter.
4. Kevin Yost (JR)- Mt Ridge- 6-1 190- 54% 1452 yards 12 TDs 6 INTs- Junior QB looks to be one of the state's top players as a senior.

5. Troy Graham- Basha- 6-5 205- 60% 1291 8 TDs 6 INTs- Definitely looks the part. Still has some developing to do but is making strides and could have a breakout senior season.

I am doing a new part to my rankings this year. I will name a couple of players as my "riser" players. Guys that could move up in the rankings quickly as the season goes on.

1. Gerell Robinson- Hamilton- 6-4 215- he could make a case to be in the top five right now. But the reason I didn't is because he hasn't played QB in a year. He is a great athlete, no doubt about it. he has a ton of offers and deserves them, I just want to see him play QB before I rank him. Belles is a great coach and will put him in the right situations to be successful.
2. Robert Rowe- Marana- 6-2 175- Accounted for over 2,300 yards and 24 TDs. Passed for 1,279 yards, 11 TDs and 15 INTs. Added 1,048 yards rushing and 13 TDs. Being recruited as an athlete much like Devin Veal was last year
