One player that has seen a dramatic increase in recruiting has been offensive tackle Patrick Jamison from Hamilton HS (Chandler, AZ). Until recently, Jamison only held offers from Arizona State and UNLV. That has now changed as Pat is one of the hottest prospects in the Southwest. He now holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, San Diego State, UNLV, Colorado State, Nevada, UCLA, Tennessee, Boise State, Washington State, Oregon State and Utah. Arizona is the most recent to offer.

Jamison was asked how it felt to get all of this new found attention. He responded, "It feels good. It shows something for all of the hard work. It (the new recruiting) kind of came out of the blue. I didn't see it coming but it did."

In previous interviews, Jamison expressed an interest in making an early commitment, he says that is still a possibility but he says he is in no rush. "I plan on taking all five of my visits" he adds.

Now with 13 offers Pat has the tough task of narrowing down his schools. He says if he had to choose his five schools to take official visits today they would be "ASU, UCLA, Oregon State, Arizona and Tennessee."

When asked if he had any unofficial visits planned for the rest of the summer he stated, "I might go to Cal. I have to work out the timing. Illinois maybe but that would be spur of the moment."

The 6-4 290 pounder has been able to attend a few camps so far this summer. He camped at Arizona State and traveled up to the Nike Camp at Oregon. His camp experience has gone well. Reports state that he was one of the best offensive linemen in Eugene and Jamison agreed. "I did well. I was told I had the best pass pro they had ever seen. I had good footwork, that's what stood above the rest and made me look superior. I also had good technique and foot speed."

Jamison was able to make an unofficial visit to Oregon State while he was up north and he came away impressed. "The coaching staff is great. Coach Riley and Coach Cavanaugh are great, he's (Cavanaugh) a good guy. I talked with him for twenty or thirty minutes. The whole staff is personal, the players said the same thing."

The Beavers do a good job of recruiting Arizona and Jamison was able to talk to former Phoenix St. Mary's linebacker Keaton Kristick. While he says that having other players from Arizona is a good thing, he says it will not be much of a factor in the recruiting process.

Jamison says he will attend camp at Notre Dame. They have not offered but he says the coaches told him they could if he performs well at the camp.

Arizona is the most recent to offer and he has good things to say about the Wildcats. "I like the program. Everything is new, they have good facilities. I know the coaching staff pretty well. They were one of the first schools to talk to me and they have always treated me nice."

Teammate Gerell Robinson has made a soft commitment to UofA and Jamison says that that will not effect his decision. He states that he has a good relationship wit Robinson and but would only commit if it felt right.

Jamison was 1st team all region last year as well as being named honorable mention all state. He reports a 3.0 GPA and has taken his SAT but has not received the score.
