Raymond S. Kellis is a new high
Kellis head coach Jason Golden informed Scout.com of the exciting news. He says, "Coach Stoops called at about 11 A.M. and offered Kenny a scholarship. He talked it over with his parents and verbalized it (the commitment) around 12:30 P.M." He adds, "This is where he wanted to go."
Golden says that Barnes camped
Golden played Barnes at a variety of positions including running back, defensive end, defensive tackle and tight end but played him mainly at DT. He is an impressive athlete. At 6-2 230 pounds Barnes obviously shows that talent, smarts and coachability to play any position asked of him. On top of his talents on the football field he is a standout in track. He ran 11.4 in the hundred meters last year and also placed 2nd in the region in the shotput behind USC's top recruit Everson Griffen.
We were also able to chat with Barnes about the commitment. Here is that transcript which took place via text message:

Will you take any other visits or look at other schools?
"Well right now I haven't received any other offers so I'm just going to see what happens and hope to have a good season."
