Graham Pulls the Trigger

QB Troy Graham from Basha HS (Chandler, AZ) decides on a school and can now focus on trying to lead the Bears to a state championship.

Northern Arizona extended an early offer to Basha QB Troy Graham a few weeks ago and after being on campus and speaking with the coaching staff, the 6-5 200 pound Graham saw enough and he informed yesterday that he had verbally committed to the Lumberjacks.

Graham had this to say about NAU, "They offered me first. They were high on me and said I was the guy they wanted. They run a no huddle passing offense, it's a quarterback's offense. Their coach told me that they have sent three of their past four quarterbacks to the pros."

NAU was Grahams only offer and he says he plans on sticking to his commitment. He says he might have to re-think it only if "something unbelievable comes up, something I can't pass up. If not, I am sticking with NAU."

Graham camped ay NAU and his team played in the Lumberjacks' seven on seven tournament recently so he is familiar with the campus. "It's cooler then in Phoenix. It is a nice campus. It is far enough away but close enough to home," he adds.

Troy says he is relieved that the recruiting process is over stating, "I don't have to worry about it (the recruiting process) at all. I can concentrate on trying to win a state championship."

Graham will not be alone in Flagstaff, former Basha QB Shane McBurney is currently on the roster and WR Greg Freeman is going to walk on to the program. He also says he will be trying to recruit current teammates, offensive linemen Steve Sabin and John Fontes to come with him to NAU.

Last season Graham helped Basha reach the state semifinals, losing to eventual state champs Hamilton. He passed for 1400 yards and 8 TDs and was named 2nd team all region.
