Arizona CB Makes Commitment

CB Anthony Hooks from Brophy Prep (Phoenix, AZ) has informed that he has committed today. Check out the exclusive here...

There a lot of players getting a lot of press but one player that has quietly flown under the radar is corner Anthony Hooks from Brophy. He has racked up three offers to date but told that he has made up his mind and committed to Colorado State.

He says, "I took an unofficial down there. They were my first offer and showed me the most interest. I felt comfortable there. Their academics are high on my list. If I don't make it to the next level (NFL) then I can succeed in business."

Hooks is also a standout in track and says that they have told him that he can run the 200 and 400 in college, which is another reason for the early commitment.

Speaking of early committing, why did Hooks choose to do so? He states, "Now I can go into my senior season with a piece of mind. I can go into each game not worrying about doing well."

Hooks took his unofficial visit three weeks ago and liked Fort Collins. "It is a college town. They really support the team. It is a good place to go to college and to grow up." Hooks also took an unofficial to Arizona and still has one planned to Boise State later this month. He says that he is a firm commit to the Rams but would weigh all options if other offers came in.

Last season the 5-11 160 pound Hooks was named 2nd team all region after recording 42 tackles, 10 PBUs and 1 INT. He says that his strength as a player is his mental toughness.

Hooks looks to be in good shape academically, he carries a 2.7 GPA and scored an 1130 on the three section SAT.

Hooks had other offers were from Idaho State and Montana.
