One would think that division-one schools would be knocking down doors to offer that player. Not true in the case of RB Jeff Hughes from Centennial HS.

Hughes has been in contact with Arizona, Arizona State, San Diego State, Colorado, UCLA, Fresno State, UTEP, Oregon, Montana and Cal but no schools have offered yet.

He has adequate size, speed and has obviously has been productive. So we asked Hughes what he thought the hold up was. He says, "They haven't seen what I can do. I need to get my grades up and I can get faster."

You be the judge. Here are clips of Hughes on both sides of the ball:

Hughes says that his strengths as a player are, "I'm smart. I know the game. I'm not selfish and can perform when things get heavy."

He has not taken his SAT but is scheduled to take it in August. He claims a 2.9 cumulative GPA but is unsure of his core.

Hughes also did not camp anywhere this summer which may have hurt him a little but he says that he is going to unofficially visit UCLA this month.

Stay tuned with 24-7Football.com as we track the recruiting progress of Hughes throughout the season.
