Head to Head: Arizona v. Colorado

The first in a new series brought to you by 24-7Football.com. We thought it would be fun to do video comparisons of top players from two different states. Here is our first one, DT Chris Merrill from Saguaro vs. Curtis Cunningham from Columbine.

Since I cover both Arizona and Colorado for Scout.com I thought it would be fun to compare top players from each state. I am going to start with two division-one defensive linemen. I am going to provide video of each, do a short description and ask you guys to vote for the winner on the message boards. Both are about the exact same size, standing at 6-2 260, so the comparison was a natural one and one that I think would be fun on this first go-round.

I am going to compare Saguaro's Chris Merrill to Curtis Cunningham from Columbine HS (Littleton, CO). Like I said both stand about 6-2 260, both actually play DE in high school and project as DTs at the next level. Both of them are 400 pound benchers and both have big time motors. Merrill committed to the University of Arizona last month and had another offer from Portland State. Cunningham holds 10 offers, they are from Colorado, Colorado State, Air Force, Stanford, Arizona State, Washington State, San Diego State, Wyoming, Kansas and Utah.

Here is the footage on Cunningham, he wears #85 and #50 in this footage. He was a consensus 1st team all state selection and was the state's defensive player of the year by the Rocky Mountain Press:

Merrill plays on both sides of the ball and was a 1st team all region selection at both guard and DE. He wears #70:
